Aftershock runs October 1-4, 2026 at Discovery Park in Sacramento, right where the American River meets the Sacramento River, off I-5. There are two entrances -- Garden Highway on the north side and Jibboom Street on the south -- so knowing which one matches your parking or rideshare plan matters before you arrive.
Getting There
There's No General Parking at the Park
Discovery Park itself has no on-site parking beyond ADA spaces. Your real options:
- The official Park & Ride Shuttle (paid pass) departs from Cal Expo, about 60 minutes before gates open and running continuously through roughly 75 minutes after close.
- Limited paid parking lots near Truxel Rd & Mill Creek Dr, or West El Camino Ave & Natomas Park Dr -- roughly a 20-minute walk in from either.
- Rideshare drops off at the Jibboom Street south entrance, with dedicated lots at 500 Bercut Drive and near Natomas Park/West El Camino.
Where to Stay
Downtown Sacramento is the practical base -- close to Old Town Sacramento and the Capitol, and set up for easy rideshare or shuttle access to the festival. This isn't a walkable-to-the-venue situation from anywhere in the city; plan on a rideshare or the official shuttle regardless of where you stay.
What to Bring
Aftershock's organizers actively discourage bringing a bag at all -- if you do, it needs to be clear. Metal water bottles and containers (Yeti, Hydro Flask, etc.) are banned -- bring one factory-sealed water bottle (20oz max) or one empty, non-metal refillable instead. This is stricter than a lot of festivals, worth double-checking before you pack out of habit.
Money Tips
Aftershock runs Cashless Registration, letting you preload a card to your wristband ahead of time -- but unlike some fully-cashless festivals, some vendors here may still take cash directly. Don't assume you need to register in advance the way ACL requires; it's a convenience option, not a hard requirement.

- Plan your parking or shuttle before you leave home -- there's no "just find a spot" option at Discovery Park.
- Ditch the metal water bottle for this one specifically -- it's a real, enforced rule here even if you're used to bringing one to other festivals.
