CrowdShuffle is operated by Eightfold Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What Data We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Spotify listening data -- When you connect your Spotify account, we access your top artists, top tracks, and recently played tracks through the Spotify API. This data is used solely to generate personalized festival recommendations.
- Email address -- If you join our waitlist or contact us, we collect your email address.
- Location data (GPS) -- If you use Squad features, your device may share location data to enable meetup functionality. This is only collected with your explicit permission.
- Feedback and contact submissions -- Any messages you send through our feedback widget or contact form.
- Basic usage data -- Pages visited, features used, and device/browser information collected automatically.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Personalized recommendations -- Your Spotify listening data powers our festival artist recommendations and match scores.
- Playlist creation -- When you create a festival playlist, we use your Spotify authorization to create it in your account.
- Squad meetup features -- GPS data helps you find and coordinate with friends at festivals.
- Weather information -- We display weather forecasts for festival locations to help you plan.
- Product improvement -- Feedback submissions and usage patterns help us make CrowdShuffle better.
- Communication -- Waitlist emails are used to notify you about product updates and launches.
3. Third-Party Services
CrowdShuffle integrates with the following third-party services:
- Spotify API -- To access your listening data and create playlists. Governed by Spotify's Privacy Policy.
- Last.fm API -- To enrich artist data and find similar artists for recommendations.
- Cloudflare CDN -- For content delivery and security. Cloudflare may process connection metadata.
- Google Analytics (future) -- We may add analytics to understand how people use CrowdShuffle. If added, this policy will be updated.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
- Session cookie (session_id) -- Used to maintain your Spotify login session. This is a functional cookie required for the app to work.
- localStorage -- We store your theme preference (cs-theme), schedule data, squad data, and offline feedback queue in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device unless explicitly sent to our servers.
We do not currently use any third-party tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for more details.
