Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This policy explains what cookies and browser storage CrowdShuffle uses, operated by Eightfold Inc.
1. Cookies We Use
We use a single cookie:
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
session_id |
Maintains your Spotify login session so you don't have to re-authenticate on every page. | Browser session (cleared when you close the browser) | Strictly necessary |
2. Local Storage
We use your browser's localStorage to save preferences and app data locally on your device. This data is never sent to our servers unless you explicitly trigger an action (like submitting feedback).
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
cs-theme |
Remembers your light/dark theme preference. |
| Schedule data | Saves your festival schedule selections so they persist between visits. |
| Squad data | Stores squad group information for coordinating with friends. |
feedback_queue |
Queues feedback submissions when you're offline, and sends them when your connection returns. |
| Waitlist queue | Queues waitlist signups submitted while offline. |
3. Third-Party Cookies
CrowdShuffle does not currently use any third-party tracking cookies. We don't run ads and we don't share your browsing data with advertisers.
Future additions
We may add the following in the future. If we do, this policy will be updated before they go live:
- Google Analytics -- To understand how people use CrowdShuffle and improve the experience.
- Google AdSense -- To display relevant ads that help support the free service.
4. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
Blocking the session_id cookie will prevent you from logging in with Spotify. Clearing localStorage will reset your theme preference and saved schedules.
